Making playdough

Last week Emily made playdough for the little kids.  She did a green batch, a purple batch, and a blue batch.  It didn't take too long to make.

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon oil
1/4 cup salt
food coloring

In a medium saucepan combine flour, water, cream of tartar, oil, and salt.
Stir together.

Add food coloring.  Emily used about 10 drops.
Blue + yellow = green
Red + blue = purple

Stir over medium heat until smooth, and thick.

It got pretty lumpy as it cooked.  Keep stirring it to make sure it doesn't burn.

Remove from pan and knead until blended smooth.   Store in airtight container or plastic bag.  Will last for a long time.
